Water use and heat rejection

Many nuclear and fossil plants use large volumes of water for cooling, with ecological and drought constraints.

Land use

High renewable shares need large land areas for wind and solar. A firm nuclear unit of the ~300 MWe class can occupy a compact industrial footprint relative to equivalent annual energy from diffuse renewables — a land-use argument, not a claim that nuclear replaces all renewables.

Existing nuclear materials and the environment

ReCore-Processing is intended to support cleanup of legacy LWR spent fuel and stockpiles by multi-recycle of actinides — recovering energy and aiming to reduce the long-term radiotoxic inventory that drives multi-hundred-thousand-year isolation debates.

Firm power with variable renewables

Wind and solar need clean firm capacity when resource is low. ReCore explores dispatchable low-carbon power and Brayton inventory control as a way to support high renewable penetration — potentially reducing reliance on gas backup if demonstrated economically and operationally.
